What was it?
Flipdonia was a temporary world that took place after the events of The Oozing, where
Ooze_Emperor_Flippeh had been defeated in the finale round of Pigchinko at the Slimechinko arena. As he was defeated, he decided to make one last effort to make the lives of Freedonians hell. He flipped the world upside down, and along with it, gravity. This "new" world was dubbed "Flipdonia".
Features
- Minecraft Version 1.21.1.
And everything that entails, feature-wise.
- Semi-Anarchy.
Griefing was allowed, but spamming and cheating were not, and could still result in bans.
....Except Craftbook, which had been purposefully disabled.
- Flipped Gravity (and its issues).
Players, entities, mobs, and items were all affected by the reverse gravity. Every single mob would also automatically be named "Dinnerbone" upon spawning to make them appear upside down to match the world. "Jumping" was done with the Sneak / Crouch key, and for a time, "jumping" came at a cost of health, as the sneaking animation would (due to the lower than normal TPS) cause the player's hitbox's "head" region to be inside the block above them briefly as soon as they "unsnuck", dealing suffocation damage. Hitting the "ground" (as in anything physically below the player) would also incur heavy fall damage. As a result, the Admins disabled block suffocation and falling damage entirely to prevent unfair deaths.

- Gravity Control (and its issues).
On the second day of the event, Command Blocks were placed at the Spawn Area to allow gravity to be switched back to normal, however, given that the world itself was flipped, the "sky" was instead the Void, and any player who fell into it would be killed instantly.
(Players would also be killed automatically if they floated too far upward from the bedrock "ceiling".
However, the command blocks to flip gravity had to have the flag @p set for "Nearest Player" if they were to be freely used. Due to this, if there was a high concentration of players near the command blocks, and one of them happened to be closer to the one being used, that player would be the one affected, rather than the one potentially pressing the button.
- "Slimes.... Slimes everywhere...."
As a result of the infinite "Oozing" effect players and mobs were given immediately upon joining (or respawning from death), and spawning respectively, every time something died, two medium-sized slimes would spawn, leading to rapid infestation. Admin shenanigans regarding chickens with the "Wind Burst" effect being created and then slaughtered en masse did not help.
- Custom Achievement
Upon joining the world, every player would be automatically granted the custom "Flipped!" advancement.

- Temporary Access to
/scale.
Originally used by Admins to mess with a few players, at some point, /scale was unlocked for everyone to use regardless of kit level. Players could set their own scale to anything between and including 16 (28.8 blocks tall) and 0.0625 (one 16x texture pixel tall).
- Scoreboard
<
MrSlimeDiamond> - the scoreboard is for you to find out
Throughout the event, a scoreboard was always present. The slimes spawned from mob and player deaths would award a random number of points to the player killing them and everyone else online at the time of killing. The scoreboard showed the top sixteen players' point values.
Testing
The temporary world was also used as a testing ground for not only the new Minecraft version, but also for the updated versions of the various plugins MCO makes use of, both as a demonstration of how much of the update was done, and as a way for the Admins to gauge how the server and world would perform. It was hosted on the new testing server, dubbed Restless.
