Ice Boat Racing (shortened to IBR) is similar to automobile racing in real life. The first racing track on MCO is hosted by Boat Drift Club in Stop-Gooningburg. The track will be open on (?01.12.2025?) You can participate in self-hosted races with other players (for comfortable racing experience, we suggest having 4-8 racers), in officially BDC-hosted races or you can do a time trial run on your own. More details about all modes below. As of now, the track is under construction, but soon will be open. We recommend installing a "BoatCam" fabric mod for a more comfortable experience.

Time Trials

Example for a time trial sign

"To do a time trial run" means to complete a full lap (we recommend a flying start!) and record the time it took you to finish it. You can record the time in two ways:

  • If a Referee is available, you can ask them to time you manually - to do so, let them sit in your boat with you, while you drive. When placing a sign with your best result on the result board - write Referee's name in the third row.
  • If no Referees are available, to have your runs recognized, you must record a video of your run and publish it to YouTube. Time your run by measuring the time between the moments your boat crosses the finish line. Write the video identifier (the part after ?v in the link) in the third row of the sign (including the =).

The first row of the sign must contain your name.

The second row must contain your time, formatted as [MM:SS.FFF] (M - minutes, S - seconds, f - milliseconds).

The fourth row must contain the date on which the record was achieved.

Official Races and Tournaments

From time to time, Boat Drift Club will host single races or tournaments of races. Rules my differ from event to event, but in general, there will be a longer period of time, called "qualification", where anyone can record their time in a time trial fashion for the qualification board. Then a certain amount of fastest drivers will be accepted to participate in the upcoming race/tournament.

Unofficial Races

Anyone can host their race on BDC's track, provided they have permission from BDC's manager - getplayerhead.sh?Andreybork&16.png Andreybork. We recommend having no more than 8 racers on the track (better yet, not more than 6) to have more space for maneuvering - older versions have worse boat interpolation than more modern game versions.
