On June 23 2020, the day Mojang released Minecraft 1.16, the server was shut down by 
SlowRiot to update software. The server was turned into a temporary world with a random seed, with no plugins or rules. The world was quickly filled with grief, hacks, and factions. Moderators were useless, and admin abuse was rampant. The name of the world was dubbed "Freedonia 2" by 
snakyman, and it somehow stuck.
How to Join
Thanks to a file provided by 
14mRh4X0r, Freedonia 2 was available to download, and the Overviewer map could be seen. As of July 2025, both links have expired.
Builds
Slime_tiger's base
The base began as a small house, with a large wall surrounding it, and the inside filled with pressure plates. It got griefed and ended up being a bedrock cage for Slime_tiger and 
SleeplessTheCat, and was surrounded by towering walls of lava.

Spawn 2
A new spawn area was built to mimic Spawn in the exact coordinates and with the same builds of the normal MCO Spawn, with the intention of it being of much lower quality. Construction was slow due to trolls, such as snakyman making massive lava casts in between Spawn 2 and Snaketown 2.

Snaketown 2
cosmac and snakyman founded a faction called Snaketown 2 and built a base. The base would see mass grief and raids from admins and other players. This was the dominant faction, which possessed the best weapons, and even the dragon egg.

Snaketown 2 after it was destroyed, with many lava casts. The base was still occupied and maintained, and the interior was better than before.
