Note: this page is about a natural lake and contains many builds made by many different people. No one person owns everything inside this lake.
Lake Ganaz is a large lake in the southern parts of Freedonia, probably the biggest lake in the Outer Land Disc. It was generated around 2011. It is the home of many builds, including Qarn Al Katra, a luxury apartment complex built by 
SlowRiot himself, and the Ryujin Castle, built by 
Raggus and 
fmxstick.
The lake serves as the namesake as well as the geographical center of the world region of Ganaz.
Etymology
The name Ganaz derives from the Arabic term for "southern islands" (الجزر الجنوبية al-juzur al-janubia) due to the abundance of islands in the lake
History
Generation
Before 2011, the area that would become Lake Ganaz was a huge empty void, devoid of any land, potentially coming from the admin disaster dubbed The Nothing. This void can be referred to as the "Ganaz Void". It can be deduced by the lake's absence from the July 2011 world map, Qarn al Katra's wiki page only appearing in November 2011 and the water-dominated insular world generation that it was generated in version Beta 1.8. Although, Ezimae Island in particular seems to have been generated sometime before the rest of the lake, as it bears the hallmarks of the Alpha 1.2 - Beta 1.7.3 world generation.
Settlement
Qarn al Katra was most likely the first large-scale build on the lake, followed by the Ryujin Castle and Thousand Sunny. LilTown was most likely founded in 2011 as the first settlement, followed by 
Otis_Wong's small town sometime after 2018. In September 2019, what is now Takadokia was founded by 
HY_Turkic & 
LolePlay_PL.
Main Islands
There are two large islands in Lake Ganaz; the larger Ezimae Island and the smaller Rafikae Island. Ezimae contains the Qarn Al Katra and LilTown, while Rafikae contains Otis' small town. Other than these two, Lake Ganaz is dotted with dozens of small islands
Ezimae Island
Ezimae is an almost exact square inside of Lake Ganaz, with it being about 450 blocks by 400 blocks. It contains a swamp biome as well as a very small tundra biome. Its name comes from the Arabic word for "great" (عظيم eazim), which refers to its size, as it is the greatest island in terms of size in the lake.
Rafikae Island
Rafikae is a more irregular blob-shaped island, located right next to Ezimae. It is roughly 240 blocks by 190 blocks, which is about half the size of its larger neighbor. Nevertheless, it is the second biggest island in terms of size. Its name comes from the Arabic word for "companion" (رفيق rafiq), due to its close proximity to and size difference with Ezimae.
