The War of Finland was a conflict between the people of Finland and a variety of other users, primarily  ickyacky,  KingServal,  Snakyman and  Chromaticals.

Timeline

How it started

On November 6th, a few hours before the attack,  BrostrodYT, arriving at Finland, was ambushed by  Chromaticals. Brostrod, according to his account, was chased, but ultimately defeated his attacker after he threw him off one of the towers of the Guardsmen's castle. The exchange ultimately had no hard feelings, as Brostrod returned the contents of Chromaticals' inventory. However, Brostrod, saying "NEVER MESS WITH FINLAND," evidently drew the attention of user  ickyacky, who was online at the time.

On the 7th of November, 3:18 AM GMT, ickyacky, along with Chromaticals, killed the Cigar Sheep. Later,  TheGriffinLord was the first person to see Cigar Sheep had gone missing and because he was friends with some of the citizens, he attacked Chrom and icky. Chrom was swiftly killed but the fight against icky lasted for about five minutes before Griffin decided he did not want to risk breaking his armor and left Finland. It was quickly revealed by Chromaticals that he and Icky had done the job of killing the sheep.

The Finns panicked about the death, and divisions began to form among the server community; those in support of the Cigar Sheep and those in support of Icky and Chrom. By the end of the day, the Finn army (called the Guardsmen) was 14 members strong. (See the Thoughts about the war section)

Peace is made

After coming to their senses, Finland decided to end the war. This was due to the consensus that the conflict was ultimately pointless.

The Guardsmen is the official army of Finland, with the head of it being  1235_John.

Chrom and Icky

 Chromaticals and  ickyacky are the other side of the war. Despite being grouped together as opponents of Finland, they do not necessarily have any association with each other.

The Dumbasses

 snakyman also declared war on Finland on behalf of Newport, allegedly to kill Finland's mooshrooms. Snaky was mad that he spent countless hours developing Newport and making it awesome, and that it was just being used as a way for noobs to access Finland, which was in his (and many others) view, a shithole. Newport staff ended up blocking off all nether entrances in the city to make it significantly harder to access Finland. Another thing that influenced him to declare war was when  drdrs afk killed him while he accidentally sat afk in Cigar Sheep 2's hut. Drs killed him out of precaution so he didn't kill Cigar Sheep. Because of this, snaky killed the sheep and declared war.  Suprafluid attempted to declare war/invade Finland to make it democratic.  KingServal too declared war on Finland to aide  snakyman, but to no avail, as the two were banned for building giant penises on one of Finland's mountains. They were unbanned because  snakyman had obtained "5% ownership" of Finland from  runarlogi, because of the town's stupid permissions system: the town was "owned" via a shares system, where people could buy and sell shares of ownership of the town. After the two were unbanned, this system ended.

Thoughts about the war

Finland was cautious about fighting a conflict with a high-level donor like Icky, who would likely win a battle even with multiple opponents. Members of Finland, particularly BrostrodYT, speculated about the quality of armor and tool both sides would need and use, but none of it came to fruition with the anticlimactic end to the war.

Many users agree that the "War" aspect of the event was overplayed and overhyped; a large conflict involving many people would have been difficult to coordinate and likely fruitless, especially since only the citizens of Finland were even invested in it.

User  HY_Turkic has suggested that the War of Finland was religious, due to the mematic obsession many Finlanders had over the cigar sheep. Despite  BrostrodYT claiming that this was the case, as cigar sheep is a joke religion at best, this statement is rejected by most users.

Brostrod has since condemned the war and most of Finland's wrongdoings.
