Sandy Shades is one of the newest towns in Freedonia. The town is almost a thousand blocks west of Nexus East (orange) 1 Borderlands hub, located mostly inside a desert biome from the 1.12 update expansion. Currently, the easiest way you can visit Sandy Shades is by going to Nexus East (orange) 1.

The town's banner is made up of red, white and blue panels with an orange stripe leading through the middle and a red circle in the centre. (crafting recipe below)

History

Beginnings

The town of Sandy Shades, originally named "Brazil", was created in 02/20/2023 by getplayerhead.sh?4dre&16.png 4dre and getplayerhead.sh?PsychicSnake&16.png PsychicSnake(he was banned on the same day). After PsychicSnake's ban, other two players joined the town: getplayerhead.sh?Kace_0&16.png Kace_0 (now banned as of 23/3/2023 for X-Ray) and getplayerhead.sh?fluffythebunnyx&16.png fluffythebunnyx. Along with 4dre, they started the construction of Sandy Shades, providing the infrastructure that it needed to be a prosperous town, where new and old players can make their builds at.

Newport

On the 7th of March 2023 the town was annexed by the Newport Empire.

Nexus

On the 12th of March Sandy Shades became a Nexus destination, accessible by Nexus East (orange) 1.

New district

Sandy Shades Town Hall

In July of 2023, Sandy Shades Town Hall was built by fluffythebunnyx. It serves as a fundemental building in the downtown area as well as the first to be completed, alongside the city park.

Sandy Shades General Hospital

Following the construction of the town hall, fluffythebunnyx work began on building Sandy Shades General Hospital, providing free healthcare to all citizens of Freedonia, even those that do not live in the town. The hospital has everything required to treat the sick or injured of Freedonia, including: Accident and Emergency (A&E) department, pharmacy, outpaitents and minor surgeries, ICU, childrens ward, a standard ward, geriatric ward, operating theatres, pathology labs and even a helipad. The main enterance to the hospital is on the north-bound road leading out of the downtown area, towards the dark oak forest and the road leading to the borderlands hub. The hospital site also includes a seperate morgue building which handles all patients the hospital was unable to treat. The hospital's first patient was getplayerhead.sh?bartek_kx&16.png bartek_kx who presented with complaints of an arrow in his knee, following medical treatment by Dr F, Garfield, the arrow was rejected by his body and he managed to make a rapid recovery.
