Transportation
Primrose strives to make travel and movement as simple and convenient as possible for residents, visitors, and others in the area. To this end, the City has several different modes of transportation both within the city and around the surrounding area.
How to get here
Apart from elytras, the fastest way to get to Primrose from Spawn is to take the Nexus to the Mosaic Mansion (Red 1; second portal on the left) and head straight West. Travellers are encouraged to bring a boat: there is a direct boat path from the Mosaic Mansion to Primrose, and a boat is the most direct way to reach the City.
Local transportation
- Streets and avenues: Streets and avenues serve as the basis for Primrose's transportation system and are the most commonly-used transportation infrastructure. Streets and avenues are distinguished as follows:
- Streets run from West to East and are numbered incrementally from South to North. Streets built to the South of 1st Street follow the alphabet in the opposite direction, from North to South.
- Avenues run from South to North and are numbered incrementally from West to East. Streets built to the West of 1st Avenue follow the alphabet in the opposite direction, from East to West.
- Underground ice tunnels: Under each street and avenue is a packed ice tunnel at the bedrock level, allowing for faster travel. These tunnels are marked with the corresponding names of the streets and avenues above. Streets are numbered with black letters on white banners while avenues are lettered with white letters on black banners. Lifts between the ice tunnels and the surface are located along avenues at regular intervals.
- The subway: The Primrose Metro is the City's subway system and is currently being built.
Regional transportation
- The FRS: A link to the Freedonia Railway System is currently being developed.
- Regional roads: Several roads extend beyond the City's jurisdiction, providing access to settlements in the surrounding area.
- Boat routes: There are currently two main boat paths connecting Primrose to the northern Freedonia ocean:
- To the West, people can sail through Blue Hill Harbor and through the Blue Hill Harbor Tunnel to reach Undertal and follow the buoys to the ocaen.
- To the East, people can sail through a set of canals connecting to the ocean near Mosaic Mansion.
- Elytra port: An elytra port is currently being planned. The port will have a lift up to build height and extend above Primrose Harbor to aid in players taking off safely during high-TPS situations.
Neighborhoods
Capitol Hill
The Capitol Hill contains the City's government offices and many resources for residents, visitors, and developers. This neighborhood is characterized by brutalist-inspired stone buildings that seek to emphasize their primarily social purposes through the low cost of their materials and their unornamented exteriors.
Zoning: Municipal
Major buildings
- City Hall is home to the City's tree farms and is planned to be the site of many other farms that will support further development of the City. City Hall also houses the offices of City staff, a large rotunda for events and legislative sessions, and a small museum. The flags of affiliated settlements hang from the 2nd floor of the rotunda.
- The Primrose Archives Building stores various artifacts and building materials. Upper floors contain offices and a library while lower floors are used for storage.
- Primrose Public Library Main Branch - see below
Residents: There are no residential units in Capitol Hill.
Primrose Public Library Main Branch
The Primrose Public Library Main Branch is located at the southernmost tip of the Capitol Hill district and contains many books written by players. Of these books, a majority are on display in item frames and can be read using /displayinfo
combined with the NBT Tooltip mod. A table of these books and where they are located can be found below.
