MinecraftOnline Slang

This article contains slang and acronyms commonly used by regulars of MinecraftOnline, to help out those who are either new or may not be as familiar with the English language.

(For long time users: feel free to add more slang!)

Slang

• "MCO", "mco": Stands for MinecraftOnline (the server you are playing on)
  • Example:

< l1npengtul> mco(MinecraftOnline) is very laggy today

• "Griffle": Grief
  • Common Variant(s): "Griffler" (someone who griefs)
  • Example:

< clake70> HOW DARE THEY GRIFFLE(grief) THE HELIX STATUE

• "cookie", "rep cookie": A Reputation Cookie, given to a player if they receive positive reputation while they are online. (via the /goodrep command) People will commonly want this from other players, especially if they are either a notable player (e.g. a Staff team member) or have a funny username (e.g.  cumilk)
  • Example:

< Clomik> axilie do you give out your rep cookie(Reputation Cookie)?

• "/msg", "msg": A direct message sent in-game using the /msg command.
  • Example:

< swissm4n> icarryju do not msg(direct message) me, talk in public

• "db", "dbs"(plural): Diamond Blocks, the primary currency of MinecraftOnline (along with diamonds). Everyone accepts diamonds/diamond blocks as currency.
  • Example:

< doublehelix457> YOOO I GOT A DB(diamond block)

• ".q", "quote": A feature of the l4mRbot on IRC. Using ".q add <name> <quote>" you can add a quote for a player, and using ".q <player>" you can retrieve a random quote of said player.
  • Example:

< Acesrt> Istg half of my quotes are me saying sus things, and the other half is just me saying uwu or someting

• "sauna", "/warp na", "/spanw", "/warp sa": Sauna, notorious death trap, which is impossible to escape from. MinecraftOnline regulars will try to trick new players to warping to Sauna for their own amusement.
  • Example:

< CervicalCanal> bev clean urself at spanw(Sauna)

• "dmall": Diamond Mall. The flagship store where many wares are sold from players all across Freedonia.
  • Example:

< 4dre> today im gonna start selling bricks in my shop at dmall(Diamond Mall, here it is refering to  4dre's store within Diamond Mall.)

• "emall": Emerald Mall, a place with many farms (such as a concrete and slime farm) and many items to sell/buy, along with an End Portal.
  • Example:

< ickyacky> emall(Emerald Mall) hasnt stocked the shops i want to sell to lately, it is quite annoying

• "silly": A bot by  Anna_28 that serves many useful functions for server users. When used as an adjective or adverb, it instead refers to an act or person which is silly, or an act or person who is known to be silly.
  • Example:

< Anna_28> Silly is silly

Common Phrases

• "<player> you're invis, relog": A common glitch on MinecraftOnline is that sometimes players are invisible, even without an Invisibility Potion. This phrase tells the player to re-log (disconnect and reconnect) which usually fixes the issue.
  • Example:

< Anna_28> official_paul6: you appear to be invis, relog please

• is this the oldest minecraft server: Often asked by new people (or by server regulars as a joke), about the oldest Minecraft server. MinecraftOnline is the oldest Survival Multiplayer Server with no map resets and a world exclusively played on the server, however servers that are technically older such as nerd.nu or Novylen.
  • A common variant of this phrase is "THE OLDEST MINECRAFT SERVER", which is a parody of  Fit's trademark phrase, "The Oldest Anarchy Server on Minecraft" (which refers to 2B2T).
• "(K)anal town": Slang referring to Kanal Town, originated with  Slime_Tiger calling the town "anal town" in 2018. Phrase will be included into sentences and has multiple variants such as "I am going to (k)anal town"
  • Example:

< cinnamonci> can't spell kanal without ana-

• Newport Syndrome: Slang referring to the condition of a settlement similar to that of Newport. Read more on it's dedicated wiki article Newport Syndrome.
  • Example:

< orchunter88> Newport syndrome, lol im the opposite of that i guess.
