The Spawn Continental Railway is a railway company, separate from the Freedonia Railway System (FRS). It connects settlements across the server via a scenic ground rail network. Locations with SCR stations usually are out of the way of other railways or do not have the qualifications for connections to the FRS.
Information
Founded in 2023, the company provides an alternative to the FRS, which controls much of Freedonia's rail network. The company's works are primarily located in the Great Lakes Province. The railway uses a custom gauge that is resource-friendly and just as efficient as the FRS standard, lowering construction costs.
Riding Information
Ticketing
There are currently no ticketing system, and all rides are free.
Ticket booths are provided at every station. Tickets cost 8 gold ore and will allow you to travel freely on the line you paid for. If you loose your ticket you will have to buy a new one. There are two ticket types: physical tickets that work with CraftBook (not required, but are more AFK friendly), and minecarts which are required for track use. Minecarts are sold at every SCR railway station for 8 gold ore and can be used almost indefinitely. Some stations though do have a minecart return, usually located at the end of railway lines.
Ticket Examples:
Riding
Stations are split into the manual and automatic categories. All manual stations get turned into automatic after a line gets enough use to allow for AFK travel. Manual stations require you to press "W" in-order to move forwards. Automatic stations will send you forwards automatically after 20 seconds.
Connecting your town
Just ask! Currently we only do things within the Spawn continent (Spawn disk) but the goal is to expand into the Borderlands sometime in 2024.
Management
The SCR lines are split into three categories in regard to management, they are listed below.
Line Type | Distance between stops | Description |
---|---|---|
Express | 2500m and above | Express lines are the largest lines operated by the SCR, they go extremely long distances between stops and usually stop at Nexus towns or major cities. |
Local Train | Under 2000m to 400m | Local Trains are the most common of the SCR lines. They stop at basically every town they go by and are used for short commutes between locations. |
ETC | Varies, usually under 100m | ETC refers to subways, funiculars, and other rail operations. These railways are usually subway networks within cities an serve to better connect urban areas. |

History
2023
The SCR was first conceptualized when SiOtter joined Emberrest, a town owned by
Link03. The two chatted about town management and wanted to better connect their cities, so a railway was suggested as an idea to do so. With a railway agreed upon, plans were set in motion to begin construction. SiOtter had the idea to have two lines directed from Kanal Town, so he contacted another local town mayor
Kendon about connecting Kanal Town and Oak Town via rail. With these three towns in agreement the SCR company was born.
The SCR had three towns to connect via rail. Oak Town already had a historic railway that was privately owned, so Kendon contacted the railways owner and it merged with the SCR. The railway was modified to test the 3:9 gauge. It was decided that the 3:9 gauge was too expensive for the SCR, so the company switched to 2:10 gauge. A third stop was made at the suburb of Chilliwack, which serves as a resource hub for the railway. The railway line at this point was given the name "The Great Lakes Line" due to it connecting the two ends of the Great Lakes. Once the Great Lakes Line connected the three towns, work began on the unnamed Red (Express 1) line to Emberrest, what is now the Western Express.
With the express only connecting two cities and SiOtter being impatient, he contacted MonkeSniper221 about getting a rail link into the New United States. MonkeSniper suggested Kyron, then named Eldermans, as it was the closest town to Kanal Town's hub station. SiOtter contacted Kyron founder
Revcha, then named NEZ0L, and began discussing having the express end at his town. SiOtter came in contact with an old friend from Toastcraft,
feb1980, and a line to the ancient town of Fjellby was planned. Around the same time, SiOtter was in talks with
FuzbolMC about a Bear Town link and acquiring the Bear Town-Freerdonia Railway. With work stalled on thethen unnamed red express line, it was decided upon that New Oak Town would become the fourth constructed stop on the Great Lakes Line. Part of the decision to hook up New Oak Town was because of the easy access to the Western Ocean of Freedonia and the Borderlands.
SiOtter contacted two Kanal Town members, 4dre and
goofy_man_lol, about a line connecting CityTown and Sandy Shades. It was dubbed the "Expanse Line", and was the first railway in that section of the Borderlands. The Expanse Line name was short-lived, as the city of Green Flowers, ran by
SonidoDeUnaPolka, was also approached about a rail link. Plans were finalized that same day, and suddenly the city owners found themselves in a rush to make an over 1.5km long railway in under a week. The Expanse Line opened late October 2023, and allowed for easier transport to the cities of Green Flowers and CityTown. The line was renamed the Alliance Railroad due to an alliance forming in these three cities due to how the railway linked them. This line's construction both delayed, in favor of the Fjellby expansion on the Great Lakes Line and the Red Express Line.
Fjellby would be connected by rail on November 13th, 2023, and it marked the competition of the original Great Lakes Line plan. Construction also began to expand the Great Lakes Line further east towards the West-2 Nexus hub. The first ride on it would be with SiOtter and 4dre, followed by a chaotic return trip to Kanal Town with Luigifan100. A new map would be released showing off the Bear Town-Freerdonia line and with a new logo specifically for maps.
On November 28th, 2023, the SCR would release the first in-game railway map, a 2x1 map art displaying all the major lines the company operates.
2024
Between January 24th and 25th, 2024, SiOtter would begin to construct the Great Lakes-B branch line, which was completed within the same timespan. The branch line has a switch that allows transfers to either Fjellby or Know-Where. Know-Where, also known as Redrose, was formed around the railway and the large farm next to the hamlet. The switch was a major part of the railway and its design was planned to be used again for a Western Express branch line into Spawn. At the very end of the month, on January 28th, 2023, the Western Express line would begin expanding towards Eldermans. The original focus was Emberrest; this however changed when the town was abandoned due to drama.
March 13th saw the completion of the Western Express extension into Eldermans. This was followed by the creation of the Spawn Line into Iceh on March 15th. The Spawn Line effectively ended any plans for the Western Express from going into Spawn, so talks with The Citadel began on expanding the line into the town. Earlier that day, SiOtter and Revcha joked around about a 100m expansion to the beartown line — a distance reserved for subway lines, turned into reality. The Beartown line was extended to Doggy Style Town making it the fourth station on the line. The section of the Beartown Line between Bear Town and Freerdonia was also repaired the same day with tracks being fixed and stations upgraded to better fit the SCR. Construction also began earlier in the month on the Alliance Lines expansion into Shackcity and its neighbouring towns.
In May 2024, the SCR's network map, both on the wiki and in-game, were entirely overhauled. The Western Express to Emberrest was cancelled due to drama and a lack of interest, instead the line was rerouted towards White Rock and new double-track railway was built above the town of Chilliwack to accommodate the express. The Spawn Line was also renamed the same week to Iceh Line, and expanded westwards to the Spanish-speaking town of Hispania. The Doggy Station on the Iceh Line was also moved to its current site.
In June 2024, talks began between E6V, SiOtter, and
Egitto, regarding an Alliance Line extension to Albourg and Shackcity. The Shackcity station was completed first and planning began of this new extension.
Marmo_D would assist with the planning and built the line with the help of
BomBardyGamer. The line would open in July 2024. A few days later, the Western Express would be expanded by SiOtter and
Sweetcorm to White Rock, securing the railway's mainline a borderlands link. A third line would open this month to Wintry town :P after talks between
wintrysummit and
SiOtter. The Wintry Line was distinguished as its own line after a vote was made on whether it would be an extension of the Great Lakes or made into its own line.
On September 13th, the SCR stopped service to the Elderlands. All stations in the Elderlands would be bypassed, and a new hub was planned to be built at Spawn instead. The Hispania to Kyron section was also moved to the Beartown Line. The services would be resumed days later, due to a misunderstanding, and the Beartown Line change was made permanent. Around the time, the Wintry Line was renamed to Glacier Line, and would open to the public. A new map by Sweetcorm was also made. The Kyron Grand Station was moved to its current building on September 17th.
2025
Following SiOtter's departure from MCO in early May due to a disagreement with the administration team on how the Empresses Tomb dungeon was run, the ownership of the company was transferred to then co-owner Marmo_D.
In August 2025, South Iceh Station opened between Iceh Station and Kyron Grand Station on the Iceh Line, serving the new town of South Iceh. The same month also saw the renaming of the line to Elder Line and the Iceh Station to North Iceh Station.
In September 2025, BuffaloBom obtained permissions to a railway built by
GlutusMaximus_ between Dipre Platinum and Tivoli, and upgraded it to a double-track railway using the SCR gauge. This marked the start of the construction of the Commonwealth Line, which plans to combine the Crystal Lakes railway, the Tivoli railway, and the Tempest Express line of the Mistralia Railway, otherwise known as the Mistral-Thurston Railway, into a single railway serving eastern settlements of the Freedonian Commonwealth. The section between Mistral Centrala Railway Station and Tivoli was completed next, followed by the Thurston to Comptown section. The line was extended northwards to Central Platinum Subway Station on September 10th, with the Rocky Points Station in Tivoli currently under construction. The Elder Line was rerouted between Kyron Grand Station and South Iceh Station to go through southern Misgard City, to ease up space in Kyron and for a potential eastern Misgard City station to be built.
