Veserva is a region in western Freedonia and is often considered a grandfather to the modern World Regions project.
History
Legacy
Veserva was created during the April 2013 border expansion and was one of the few non-ocean areas generated at this time. Despite this, it remained sparsely settled aside from a few users, such as Enjoku, who founded Hafenburg and Lavender Isle. Famous landmarks such as the Trapdoor and Bastiansdorf would also be constructed early on, along with more obscure builds like The Stables and Red Tranquility.
As time went on, more large projects would be constructed in the area, such as The Hunters Pyramid and the Sheepening. CoffeeTowne was an early settlement, but was relatively obscure and inactive despite its Nexus link.
The earliest modern settlements were the New Canadian Republic, built by Himan75, and Obernai, built by LewisD95, in the 2016-2017 era. They would later be joined by STL_Ninja17, who founded Flarenta, and Wulf_359, who founded Spring City. Project MOON was moved to the area after the N-Town debacle.
In 2018, Hirudo6 would found Saikyo, which quickly grew to be the largest settlement in the region, discounting Project MOON. Later in the year, Birdcity, Aeston Isle, and Las Vereno would all be founded.
Throughout 2019, activity in Veserva would die out, save for Las Vereno, which turned into a major metropolitan area. Several roads were also built by the Freedonia Road Company, namely HyperRoutes 5 and 10, as well as the Trapdoor Highway.
Come 2020 and 2021, with the servers resurgence, many new towns were founded, such as New Duren, Hashizawa, Honeywood, and Cartesía, with others seeing a revival, such as Saikyo. The old FRC land routes in the area were also replaced with the Veservan Road Network.
At the tail end of 2022, Project MOON finished its final stages of reconstruction. Many surrounding outposts and settlements cropped up including Eastport, Northport, Outpost Recovery, and Northshore Outpost.
Modern Veserva
In 2023, a new definition for Veserva's borders was created during the World Map project. These resulted in a cleaner overall look for the region.
In 2023, Aurora and the Mawu Highway began construction in the mountain range between Luna Bay and the Lake Callian Region. This area was given the name Starlight Valley.
Geography
Boundaries
The northern border of Veserva is marked by the shores of Obernai and Aeston Isle. The western border borders the edge of Mount Pespla and continues down southward around Nuwara and M'Ladyburg. The south border follows the continental frozen tundra and wraps around south of Spring City. The east border is clearly defined by the land disc.
Localities
Formerly the "sub-regions" of Veserva, the localities are smaller districts encompassing land around major locations or geographic formations.
Obernai Tundra
This includes all of the snowy area surrounding Obernai. Included are also Industria and the Artemis Ruins.
This locality includes the following settlements:
Claw Bay
This is the enclosed area where Arrvecxiia and Samurai Island sit, extending to just north of the Trapdoor. It is so named due to the land and sea resembling the shape of a crabs pincer.
This locality includes the following settlements:
Luna Bay
Between the south harbor of Aeston Isle, the northern waters of Saikyo, and the cities of Eastport and Northport sits the waters of Luna Bay. The region is named after the titular Neighbor Luna of Project MOON and contains many islands and outposts.
This locality includes:
Starlight Valley
Nestled in between the expanse of Luna Bay and the hustle and bustle of Lake Callian Region is the humble mountains of Starlight Valley. It prominently features the mountains around the Lotus Orb and Blackwater Lake.
This locality includes the following settlements:
Lake Callian
Located in the northwest of Veserva is a huge metropolitan area where many large cities have flowed into one another around Lake Callian Region, hence it's name.
This locality includes the following settlements:
- Las Vereno
- Hashizawa
- Lake Callian]
- Sinar Tempora
- Burgeon City
- Friendship Avenue
- Sunny Meadows
- Sunset Village
- Mount Pespla

Transportation

Location
Veserva is bordered to the east dominantly by the Midwest and part of Winterthorn. The south is bordered by the South Southwest. The west is split between South Heruvia and Agartha. Lastly, to the north is the expanse of the Tedster Sea
Origin
The origin of the concept of Veserva comes from two sources: one, a map created by martin19_12, and two, Hirudo6's constant and thorough explorations of the area. Hirudo had carried the idea of a large top-down map of the area he called home for a long time, and was inspired by Martin's map.
Etymology
The name "Veserva" also originated from Martin's old World Map. The designation given there was "West Salvation," likely a reference to its status as one of the few major landmasses outside of the notorious South. Hirudo adapted the name, using the roots 've,' meaning west, 'serv,' as in 'to save,' and 'a,' place name, and combined them to give the area an actual name.
Mapping
The process of actually mapping Veserva was originally a personal project of Hirudo6's, fraught with difficulty, and restarted at least twice. (Mostly due to texture pack issues) This project is still not complete, but thanks to another map.
The modern-day Veserva began with a projection-mapped version of the Live Map created by ScarClaw72. This map, while emulating a top down, still had distortion issues so was replaced by a different one for the World Mapping project.
Status
'Veserva' is merely a name given to a place that has existed for a long time. It is essentially no different from any other area on the map. Giving names and classifications to these geographical features is meant to be a help for navigational and historical purposes.
