Connecting New Haven

Why does it mention connecting to Mycelia? That's quite the distance. 14mRh4X0r 12:45, 28 February 2013 (UTC)

Because that's what I'm planning to do. Ocean Route from Mycelia or even Novum Culta to NewHaven, passing whatever interesting places I can find along the way, e.g. Avalon and glitch80's jungle pyramid come to my mind. It's a long way, true, but that has never stopped me before. And it's all ocean, so no complicated routing to work out, no canals to dig, etc. Nosefish 14:44, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
Ah. If you need my help, feel free to highlight me in IRC. 14mRh4X0r 15:26, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
proposed route:
Novum Culta
this nice square village
floating thingy
Mycelia
forgot the name of this place <--- Kangaroo islands - Sheep1997
Monkokoro
Rose Island
Snappy's place
through here to make it more interesting, with branch to statue park
Avalon
jungle village by Ellen, Mars, and Loppan
Jungle temple (short branch)
Xandronia Oil Co.
Pinktopia
Tonyisbeast's village
Newhaven
Nosefish 08:53, 5 March 2013 (UTC)
Looking nice! I've noticed your adding of places, and I'll check around some as well :) 14mRh4X0r 12:28, 5 March 2013 (UTC)
Route is completed with branches to glitch80's jungle temple ("Forsaken Island") and StatuePark. Branch to statue park will only become completely navigable when getplayerhead.sh?sheep1997&16.png sheep1997 makes a little change to his village. Novum Culta, NewHaven, Monkokoro, and Statue Park need proper piers; all other places along the way are private property or already have a pier. Nosefish 12:28, 7 March 2013 (UTC)
Sheep Village is clear. Nosefish 09:49, 11 March 2013 (UTC)
Working (kinda) on a pier at the NewHaven Ocean Bar, with ryanpbny's permission. 14mRh4X0r 11:59, 11 April 2013 (UTC)
Done. 14mRh4X0r 11:37, 12 August 2013 (UTC)

Kurai Cho

moved here from top of page:
could i connect kurai cho to the network at some point? -sprazz

Sure. I've been planning to do that for ages, but with the updates messing up the biomes and all those other ideas I have, I never got around to it. I will do it after fixing the Great Circle, to which it will connect. If you want to do it yourself, please use white/white buoys, like I've done for all branches of the Great Circle. Nosefish 06:42, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

I was looking on the map, and it looks like someone started connecting Kurai Cho to the Great Circle Route already, marked with purple buoys. It seems, though, as if a snow biome decided to start there, making it nigh impossible to connect Kurai Cho without a considerable detour or a nice roof over the route. Any ideas who started it or how to finish it? 14mRh4X0r 15:40, 28 February 2013 (UTC)

Look at the beginning of this section (formerly top of the page) :P - it was sprazz. He started shortly after an update with biome changes and didn't realize it would freeze. I rerouted the Great Circle at that place, so now it just ends in the ice. Best way to connect Kurai Cho would probably be to dig through this mountain to Emucraft and connect to the Lothendal Route here. Nosefish 16:04, 28 February 2013 (UTC)

Renaming the Light Blue/White route

Of course it's ultimately up to the creators to name it; I just chose a name because "XXXX Route (Currently Un-named but that's what apears on the signs)" was utterly ridiculous (and quite badly misspelled, too). I've always named boat routes after well-known regulars who have some connection to the route (even if it's just the player's love for the buoy colour, like the "Enjoku Route"). Only the Great Circle is different, because a) it's a bloody big circle around the centre of Freedonia, b) the word's meaning in geometry makes it mildly funny in the context of Minecraft for nerds like me, and c) I couldn't think of a player name that felt right for it at the time, but it needed a name.

In the case of the light blue/white route, the obvious choice for me was "Crystalriver Route", because she is the the founder of the destination town. Sounded much better than "SmellySewer Route", "PollutedLake Route", or "OilSpillInTheGulfOfMexico Route", too. Out of interest, could you enlighten me what made you decide to change it? Don't like my naming scheme with player names? Think cry is unworthy of this very minor honour? Annoyed that it's not your own name? Nosefish 07:02, 6 March 2013 (UTC)

I assume those questions are aimed towards thesprazzler. His reasoning (in-game) was "It wouldn't be fair to name the route after one of us, since we all worked on it". That said, I don't mind either name. 14mRh4X0r 10:42, 6 March 2013 (UTC)
I talked with cry about what to name it whilst we were building it and we decided it shouldn't be a name because we all worked hard. If you want to keep it in with the others though I fine with that. Thesprazzler 18:10, 6 March 2013 (UTC)
Let's keep the current name, even Shakespeare's Juliet knew: "Rose Island by any other name would smell as musty" (or something like that). I'll change it on the map when I add the Novum Culta - NewHaven route. Nosefish 18:29, 6 March 2013 (UTC)
Ok thanks a ton, also tell me if there's any opportunities for new routes to be built as I'd be more than happy to lend a hand again. Thesprazzler 18:58, 6 March 2013 (UTC)

Connection Mount Jackal and Game City

Hey nose,

I want to connect mount jackal and game city to the routes, but to my knowledge none of the routes go anywhere near far enough north. If they do could ya tell me please. Thesprazzler 19:39, 23 March 2013 (UTC)

I'd connect to the Enjoku Route here. Nosefish 08:38, 24 March 2013 (UTC)
That looks great. Thanks a lot (also any ideas as to what colour wool?). Thesprazzler 16:33, 24 March 2013 (UTC)
You could make it an unnamed branch with plain white buoys; it's not that long. If you think that it is likely to be extended in the future and therefore should be a named route, choose whatever combination you like, there are no rules, but it should be visible (blue is bad). Nosefish 21:17, 24 March 2013 (UTC)
Ok- and I think I'll go for a coloured wool with a name (Probs just Mount Jackal Route- or Sprazz Route) as I may well extend it further north later as there aren't many boat routes up there. Thesprazzler 10:25, 25 March 2013 (UTC)
I've tested out brown, black and cyan wool in sp and I think black looks the best so I'll be using that for it. Thesprazzler 09:22, 26 March 2013 (UTC)

Quick update as to progress- The main route has almost reached melthous which just 1 largish canal to be built however the branches have not yet been started. Thesprazzler 10:40, 29 March 2013 (UTC)

Any idea on a name yet? I'm going with "Thesprazzler Route" on the gmap for now. 14mRh4X0r 13:37, 30 March 2013 (UTC)
I think I'll go for the Sprazz Route Thesprazzler 14:43, 31 March 2013 (UTC)

Extending the Acsidol route

I cleared the route up to Rutopia, just needs marking. I was also looking around how to continue the route, and we could actually branch it to Delta City and attach it to the FlyingJellyfish Route here or something, for the biggest part following the original (I think?) route. Ideas? 14mRh4X0r 15:07, 24 January 2014 (UTC)

Mushiana route

Most of the main route is for this is done already. After connecting to Novum Culta and the FlyingJellyfish route, it will extend to most of the locations in Acacia Roads using rivers in the desert.

The plan for the route is now to continue going around the map and forming a large circle with the FlyingJellyfish route, linking places with branches along the way.

proposed route:

Anna 28 23:27, 7 January 2016 (UTC)

Updates

Also going to add a branch near Ironguard to Amontein, Treetopia and Gran Syre -Anna 28 00:13, 8 January 2016 (UTC)
Connected to the FlyingJellyfish route and Novum Culta. Mushey is starting on the Acacia Roads routes. Anna 28 08:56, 9 January 2016 (UTC)
Started on Draglide route from Ironguard to Gran Syre. Mushey and Mia have been working on extending the route through Acacia Roads. Anna 28 06:14, 27 January 2016 (UTC)
Route to Acacia Roads is done, the Syrus branch (rename of Draglide branch) was also completed. Anna 28 04:23, 30 March 2016 (UTC)
"Sugar branch" named as such because of all the sugarcane, completed and connected to MineWood. Also add a ✔ to parts of the plan above when completed. Anna 28 22:13, 1 April 2016 (UTC)
Connected with the other end of the FlyingJellyfish route! Anna 28 (talk) 03:36, 6 February 2024 (UTC)
Connected GodWall branch. not going to connect Bastets Landing due to the village theme of not having outside resources and such. It will pass by and still link to other places around that area though. Anna 28 08:01, 7 January 2017 (UTC)
Connected to Treetown. Anna 28 03:23, 16 October 2017 (UTC)
Now connected to Winterthorn. Anna 28 08:59, 19 October 2017 (UTC)

Cake Route

Pink/light blue buoys, will connect Emerald route to Cakeville.

proposed route:

Mosaic Route

Despite it being adjacent to Panthera Route, Mosaic Route is separate from it because A: they were built by different builders, B: Its style is different (i am lazy to unionise style), C: Its purpose is to connect some Nexus Borderlands Hubs. --rhyz❄️ (talk) 05:42, 17 February 2023 (UTC)

Planned extension

  • Nexus Borderlands NE1 - Buoy marked, awaiting approval from getplayerhead.sh?oopsJay&16.png oopsJay
Officially approved as of early August --rhyz❄️ (talk) 13:13, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
can this even go to Shackcity..? I'm not doing this myself... --rhyz❄️ (talk) 08:27, 6 March 2023 (UTC)
ask getplayerhead.sh?E6V&16.png E6V. He’s planning this.
Route to El Reino Z done, Shackcity next. E6V (talk) 23:23, 13 July 2023 (UTC)
Route to borderlands hubs 2 & 3 done, shackcity done E6V (talk) 03:22, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
  • Forrrest Loop as part of the extension to Nexus Borderlands N2 ☑️
NxB N2 - Edgeton - NxB N1 - North Noob Island - Snakyman Holding A Giant Salami - Project Chunk Fix - Mooshroom Reserve - Socorro - Maltapple west (near Taumatawha(ry) - an octagon stone building - Zeraora Mapart & getplayerhead.sh?Hijacked_&16.png Hijacked_ mapart - loopback to NxB N2

Existence of Redundant Boat Routes

This has been trivial for a good while now, and I have yet to hear a reasonable explanation for keeping these so-called "routes". Most sections coexist with other main lines, and buoys are extremely congested between North of Nowhere and Nexus N2B! Like, excuse me, 5 routes in one place? What was the purpose of building them, and why even create them if the route is, in fact, redundant? Why not an actual route? It's not like rusty buoys are floating around or anything. --rhyzo (talk) 06:32, 27 June 2024 (UTC)
